[Patentpractice] USPTO calls on hold ahead of me - WTF

Would anyone be able to confirm or reject a conjecture of mine?
The PTO hired new EBC folks as the quid pro quo for decommissioning the
"old reliables" in favor of Patent Center. It's been a month... Is that
correlated? Were all those extra people sent back to whereever they came
from as of yesterday?
