[Patentpractice] Ass Center, B*, & Son-of-a... Notice of Non-Recordation

Okay, I was able to do the resubmission by entering the Document ID and Access Code in the Ass Center.  But, not all the original information was loaded properly.

In addition to all the things everyone else has pointed out...

My big irritation with this system is the inability to correct my name to read exactly as I write and sign with the initial "K."

It bugs the heck out of me when the K is missing because the resulting alliteration makes me sound like a cartoon character.  Drives me bonkers.  I am not like Minnie Mouse or Donald Duck.  I am not a cartoon character... and despite what Google says, I am a human, not a bot.

Anyway, I went to "Account" in the MyAss tab to see if I could somehow configure it so my name is provided the way sign, etc.  Nope.

Anyone know whom to contact to have one's name fixed?

I attempted to record a corrective assignment (same assignment but counter-signed by the assignee).

I guess the assignee's data I entered was not exactly the same as before.  Hence, I got a Notice of Non-Recordation, which indicated:

Oh, and several months ago, a client was wondering why they could not find the recordation for a PCT application (it was a US/RO) in their assignment search... like ALL the other assignments for PCT applications that they have been able to find for YEARS.

I repeatedly emailed the Assignment Branch to get an answer and have it resolved.  They finally responded:

Thank you for contacting the Assignment Recordation Branch.

Please be advised PCT cases published by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) are NOT published or patented in the U.S. The granting of patents remains under the control of the national or regional office in what is called the "National Phase."

Therefore, PCT cases published by WIPO do NOT fall under the same category as U.S. National Phase cases that are prosecuted, published and eventually patented. The Patent Number and Publication Number fields shown in the attached Patent Assignment Details are updated using information from the U.S. case, and not WIPO.

Finally, until the National Phase case is available for public inspection the Assignment Information will not be searchable.
