Hi Katherine,

In my experience (limited, of course, given how new Ass. Center is), you should be able to record it as soon as the application is visible in Patent Center. Have you tried removing every character that is not digits when you enter the application number in Ass. Center? One thing I've noticed about Ass. Center is that it's picky about slashes and commas, and it doesn't necessarily tell you what exactly it finds offensive. I do know that you cannot simply copy-paste the number from the PC EAR, because that would be too easy and foolproof, and why implement the thing that would make practitioner lives easier when you can do something to inconvenience/annoy them?

I apologize if this has already been discussed, but I filed a provisional application 4 days ago and still can’t record an Assignment for that application because Ass Center says “No Properties available.”  Is this the new normal or is there an issue with the application that I’ll need to look into? I see the application in Patent Center, but do see the status is “undergoing preexam processing.”  Didn’t we used to be able to record an assignment immediately after filing an application?
