You should be able to fix the country by filing a certificate of correction for an applicant's mistake. I think you will have to pay a fee, however.

I can't imagine being able to invalidate the patent based on the country code being incorrect. Maybe it's possible if someone can allege it somehow involves inequitable conduct, but that seems like a real stretch.

We were asked if it is possible to correct the address of an inventor (specifically, the country) listed on an issued patent.

Is a certificate of correction possible, specifically for field (72) to update the country code?
If nothing is corrected, is there any chance of invalidation based on the wrong country being listed in an inventor address?
