Well maybe not painless, but as a point of clarity I did say most painless :-D

I assumed here (probably shouldn't have) that you were going US only, and wanted acceleration immediately. Track One is the most straightforward way to do that, unless you have an inventor > 65 years - accelerate due to age I have found to usually be very promptly handled by the Office.

Accelerated Examination is a nightmare - read Carl's article he posted earlier.
However, many people want prioritized examination -- which is a broader category. Track One is the most painless way to get there by paying 2 fees (Track One fee + processing fee) at the time of filing. There is a form you have to fill out -- it has to be filed at the time of filing, including all fees, and there are some claim count fees. Make sure you review the form 2 or 3 times to make sure you have all the requirements met. Most of them can't be fixed after filing (you're application will be fine, but you'll lose the opportunity for Track One without refiling). Track One usually gets youa first action in about 6 months.

Additionally, we’ve observed a steady decline in the number of requests for Accelerated Examination. In each of the fiscal years 2014 to 2024, fewer than 100 applicants have utilized Accelerated Examination.
