[Pct] 92bis need to add inventor email?

Dear all,

A brief not-so-brief addition to Mike's information.
Indeed, 'ePCT (email with a link to view and download the document in ePCT)' is currently preselected as notification method<https://www.wipo.int/en/web/ipportal-support/epct-user-guide/faq?id=7076021> by default, for example when you make a change of inventor:

However, in the next few days or weeks (depending on whether everything goes well), a new version of ePCT will be released, in which this field will be empty in the future. Only for certain parties, for example, the agent, will you be prompted to make a conscious selection for the notification method<https://www.wipo.int/en/web/ipportal-support/epct-user-guide/faq?id=7076021> and provide an email address.

For the inventor/s, both can remain blank (also in the current ePCT version):

...unless you want to use the external signature function<https://www.wipo.int/en/web/ipportal-support/epct-user-guide/faq?id=4368099>, e.g. to request the inventors' signatures for declaration (iv)<https://www.wipo.int/en/web/ipportal-support/epct-user-guide/faq?id=7116612> by email.

Further to my previous post, I would like to thank you for bringing this to our attention.

We have been looking into the fact that it's not very user friendly opening this screen with a default arrangement that means you need have to clear the notification method before you continue without entering an email address when that is the normal thing to when there wasn't an email address there before.  This is a transitional effect that we hadn't considered that occurs when changing data originally created before a recent change to the system.  We will take steps to clean this up so that you should soon see a more intuitive arrangement and not need to take the step I mentioned earlier.

Dear Will

An email address is only required if a notification method is set - for an inventor there is no requirement to have a notification method. Select the blank option in the notification method box and you should be able to leave the email address field blank.

ePCT 92bis request now requires me to add an inventor email address. Is this a new thing?
