[Patentcenter] Another PC bug

Although I too had this happen, if I used the refresh arrow, then tried to open the file under the customer number, it worked without logging out and back in. This may happen when you have not logged into that customer number that day.

Nope. This is not something that users (we) are doing. It is a bug on the PTO side. This is not Patent Center logging anyone out. This has been happening for weeks. And it has been reported to the PTO.

I get it almost every time I try to download an office action. I download the PDF successfully and then click on the corresponding DOCX file (for an office action), and I get this error message. I am not logged out. I have not done anything except click to download a DOCX file (or another PDF file) right after downloading a PDF file.

I can speculate on the implementation error they made to make this happen, but that’s not for us to do.

Will they fix it by tonight? Maybe, with their NWOW (New Way of Working) approach to coding.

My guess (and it's only a guess) is that Patent Center logged you out, and instead of telling you it had logged you out, it gave you a panic-inducing message.

I have seen strange behavior like this that magically went away after I closed the browser window and logged back in. I am assuming that it logged me out but didn't tell me.

Best regards,

Krista

This is a new one for me – today I logged into Patent Center, loaded my workbench (applications), and clicked on an application. I received the error code below:

I logged out and back in, then was miraculously able to access the same application. The correspondence address customer number had not changed, and I do still have access. Can anyone tell me why a message like this would pop up instead of a “system busy” or “max search limit reached” message? There’s no reason I can think of to tell the practitioner they don’t have access to something when it’s just a system snafu on their end. At this point it feels like they’re trying to make us miserable. Maybe they want all the practitioners to retire to make room for more pro se applicants?

Best regards,

Katherine
