[E-trademarks] Webinars on using the PTO's new searching platform, and responding to final office action rejections

Dear listmates,

I wanted to share this information on two upcoming webinars being offered through the California Lawyers Association Intellectual Property Section's Trademark Interest Group.  If you are like me, you are anxious (actually, I am desperate, if truth be told) for any and all help available about learning how to use the PTO's new searching platform.  I've listened to the PTO's presentations, but don't feel like I'm ready to jump in with both feet yet.  Many of you are familiar with Jason Lott from the PTO, and Peter Bromaghim has presented to our IP Section on searching tips on prior occasions.  I've printed those tips and keep them by my desk like a well-dog-eared map.  Peter is a former examiner, so he knows all of the shortcut tips for doing free form searches, and explains things really well!  This webinar is on December 7, shortly after the new system goes live.

The webinar on December 13 on strategies for responding to final office action rejections, also features Jason Lott, as well as Erik Pelton, well-known to this list.  Thanks, Erik!!

The USPTO is adopting a new trademark search platform. The search platform we have all worked with– TESS – will be phased out near the end of this year.
