Escrow.com is the standard in escrow for domain name purchases.  I have used them many times.  If your colleague is responsible for all or some of the escrow fees then you might consider trying to negotiate with escrow.com to get the fees down as it can get pricey (see https://www.escrow.com/fee-calculator).

Potentially a six-figure purchase price.
