[E-trademarks] cryptographic signatures? (was Applications owned by same owners no longer examined together?)

Carl,

My apologies for misspeaking about the signature on your emails. This most recent email came with a cryptographic signature certificate as an attachment, but the body of the text appeared in the message rather than as an attachment, which is the way I presume it is supposed to work. Your previous email addressing the same issue from a few minutes earlier did not contain the attachment or otherwise note that it was signed.

Oh and it is commonplace for Microsoft Outlook to be broken in its handling of email messages that were send by someone who does not use Microsoft Outlook. I do not use Microsoft Outlook.

I have always assumed that this broken handling is Microsoft's way of being passive-aggressive about trying to force users of non-Microsoft software to give up and pay money to Microsoft to use Microsoft software.

A further challenge is that many people who receive email are receiving the email through a system operated by their employer, and the employer's system includes anti-spam and anti-virus functions. And the anti-spam and anti-virus functions are broken in the way that they handle emails that are cryptographically signed.

Anybody who has trouble reading an email from me (due to its being cryptographically signed) ought to contact their IT department and ask their IT department to fix their broken software.
