The TEAS Standard application 98952446 - ŌဗJ caught my attention in January.  Initial USPTO processing turned the second character ဗ into a ? (question mark).  While ဗ is not a standard character, I still added this application to my questionable wordmark list as I was curious if Pre-Exam would replace the question mark with a blank space or substitute the ဗ that survived USPTO's initial processing of the description of mark entry.  To my surprise, Pre-Exam apparently did notice the ဗ in the description of mark and included the ဗ in the wordmark.  Pre-Exam did add the design code 24.17.14 (Ampersands (&); At symbol (@); Brackets, punctuation; Commas; Diacritical marks; Exclamation points (!¡); Punctuation marks; Question marks (?)), though clearly that design code description is out-of-date as the example characters & @ ! ¡ ? are all valid standard characters that were handled fine in TESS and continue to be searchable on Trademark Search (even without the Decimal Mark search field previously provided on TESS).  Perhaps the description for design code 24.17.14 could be updated to include any Unicode characters that are fairly unique and unexpected for typical text searches?  Some additional Unicode characters that might be worthy of the 24.17.14 design code include ● ◦ ∙ ↑ ꟷ ▪ ∫ , though that list is just a few of the unexpected Unicode characters I've noticed recently in wordmark entries.

Well, I found the recovery of the ဗ character in the wordmark by Pre-Exam notable.  The search CM:( *ဗ* ) DE:( *ဗ* ) retrieves only the subject application, suggesting that for now this is the only trademark record with the ဗ character.  (Is there a search field option to search across all search fields, say something like ALLFIELDS:( *ဗ* ) or ALL:( *ဗ* )? As I recall, TESS had an ALL search option to search across all fields, but I have not found a similar option for Trademark Search.)

PS - What do you expect will happen with these 3 standard character marks? Search SN:( 99134995 99135001 99159750 ) to view these 3 applications on TM Search/TSDR.  For these applications, the USPTO generated standard character drawings do not match the literal elements provided, but the applicants apparently did not inspect the USPTO generated standard character drawings prior to submitting the applications. Clearly, the Unicode characters provided are equivalent to characters in the standard character list. I don't see any evidence that Pre-Exam has noticed/processed these April applications yet.  (No, I'm not expecting any replies, so surprise me!)
