[Patentpractice] Is it rude... and do you care

I don’t recognize the caller ID and it is not the USPTO, I don’t answer the phone. I stopped answering such calls a long time ago. Anyone who needs me can leave a voice mail and I will call back if I choose to do so.
Somehow the callers think it is not rude to interrupt whatever I was doing with their phone calls, so there is nothing rude in any kind of my response, I don’t care.
Maria
P.S. With unsolicited emails (re: Madrid) google filters are generally good. I click on an email to mark it as spam and I don’t see it or similar ones again.

I am to the point where if a name I recognize doesn't show up on the call ID and/or it is a USPTO area code, I don’t pick up and let it go to voice mail.

I get 2 calls and at least 5 emails a day. I have blocked over 800 email addresses in my spam filter and most of those blocks are for an entire domain. I cringe every time a Madrid application is rejected in certain countries.
You asking people trying to solicit you to stop soliciting you is not rude.

Thanks for this… it makes me feel a better… that I’m not the only one.
I just had one and she had a British accent which made me feel all the worse :)

I interrupt and tell them that I am not interested and politely thank them for the call and hang up. I don’t think that is any ruder than an unsolicited phone call.

When receiving a cold call by some vendor who is in the process of giving their 10+ minute spew (without pausing for a breath) of the IP services they provide, e.g., docketing, processing, drawings… yada yada yada…
Do you think it is rude to interrupt and simply tell them you are not interested… and when they jump right back into their 10+ minute spew again… to interrupt again and tell them you are not interested?
And, do you care if you are rude when you do it?
When we bill by the hour and time is so precious to us… and one little interruption that lasts a minute or so actually results in a disruption of at least 15 minutes for one’s brain to get back to doing what it was doing…
I interrupt the spew and tell them I’m not interested and when they insist, I more assertively tell them I am not interested… and I’ve had a few where they still insist, so I’ve hung up on them.
Then I briefly feel bad for being rude… but again… When we bill by the hour and time is so precious to us… and one little interruption that lasts a minute or so actually results in a disruption of at least 15 minutes for one’s brain to get back to doing what it was doing…
Wondering what others do/think…
