[Patentpractice] mistakes in 'assignment search'

The assignment search at the USPTO has been broken for a while now.

  But mistakes do happen on the prosecution side, rarely.  Over the past
20+ years I have noticed it happen at least 3 times that I remember.

  You can always check the reel and frame if there is a mistake in any of
the numbers.

1. Personally, I compare the assignment and the cover sheet once the
application has been published (this wasn't always the case).
2. I also use patsnap to keep track of my portfolio and notice when someone
accidentally claims ownership of one of my patents.
