[Patentpractice] Shout out to the office of petitions

This is excellent news Margaret!

I had to file a petition for a design under similar circumstances and the
office of petitions came through for me also (petition with CPA filed 10
calendar days before issuance).

One caveat from my experience is to make sure the application is correctly
routed back to the examiner after petition grant. Mine was stuck in limbo
between the office of petitions and the art unit. The office of petitions
system said the app was returned to the art unit, but the art unit said
that the app was still at the office of petitions. Further, Patent Center
still listed the previously assigned patent number while the application
was in this limbo, so that may be useful as an indicator. IIRC, I believe
I ended up having to call some higher ups at the office of petitions and
art unit to get it straightened out.

Holding out hope that your path continues to be smooth!

Thanks,

John
